Layout and reset

• Pick Player A's and Player B's missions, then layout A, B or C for that pairing. Your own layouts (Terrain tool) are in the ★ list.
• ⟲ Reset starts the game again on this layout: every unit goes back to its player's off-table area, and all bubbles, ranges, auras, overlays, the heat map, lines and rings are switched off.
• ✕ Bubbles switches off every bubble (unit bubbles, weapon ranges, auras, radius rings, the armies' deep strike / infiltrate / threat zones) and leaves everything else as it is.

Mouse

• Measure (M): drag, or click the start and then the end. Starting or ending on a model measures from its base. Right-click clears it.
• Pan (P): drag to move the view, for mice and touchpads without a middle button.
• Drag a model to move its whole unit; Shift+drag moves a single model; Ctrl+click selects several units.
• Line of sight (L):
  • Click the observer (a model or a point), then click the target to fix the line.
  • Drag either end to watch the result update live. A model drags its whole unit; Shift+drag moves just that model. G shades what the observer can't see.
  • Right-click ends the line of sight so you can start a new one. Right-drag still pans.
• Lines (D): hold Shift for a straight horizontal or vertical line, Ctrl for 15° steps. This also works when dragging a line's end.
• Rotate: drag the yellow ⟳ knob above the selection around its centre (Shift snaps to 15°). It turns the selected units, or one model after Shift+click; the readout shows the angle and how far models move. Q/E still rotate in 15° steps.
• Wheel zooms; while dragging, the wheel rotates the unit or model. Right- or middle-drag, or dragging empty table, pans.
• While a unit moves, the readout shows the furthest distance a model has travelled against M and M+6 (advance), engagement and coherency. Ghosts mark the start position; Move, Advance and Charge ranges are measured from it.
• Dragging a unit from the off-table area shows the enemy's no-deep-strike zone (more than 8") and whether the set-up would be legal.

Rules modelled (2D, top-down)

• All distances are measured edge to edge between bases, or hulls for models without a base.
• Terrain areas (13.01): footprints are the official mats, ragged edges included. Touching footprints with an eye on the seam form a single terrain area: one objective, and a model within either footprint is within the whole area (line of sight, Hidden, cover). A crossed-out eye keeps them separate areas. Touching mats leave no gap for line of sight. The eyes are shown with the footprint outlines (View).
• Moving (03.01): rotating a model is free, so the Move, Advance and Move + charge bubbles of a vehicle or oval base reach its longest half-dimension past the move in every direction. Charge (max) and the "within X" bubbles (engagement, coherency, ranges, auras) use the model's current facing.
• Obscuring (13.10): every footprint here contains light or dense features, so each one blocks visibility when every line of sight crosses it. The exception is an area that either model is within, even with only part of its base (toe-in).
• Solid (13.11): dense (green) features are opaque up to 3" from ground level — also inside an area, and also when the observer or the target is within that area. Ruins (the Manufactorum pieces marked AB, CD, EF, GH) are corner pieces: only their two outer walls are solid (with View → Feature outlines, the wall is the solid line along the ruin's own edge; the open sides are dashed). Their ground floor is open: a model can stand in the ruin and see, and be seen, through the open sides, but not through the walls. Other dense pieces (barricades, generators, custom pieces) are solid as a whole. Small gaps between neighbouring solid pieces count as closed (designer's note); the width is set in ⚙ Settings. A base pushed into a wall or a solid piece by more than 0.1" is flagged as not a legal position (13.06.01). Light (yellow) features do not stop a line of sight, but a target behind one is not fully visible.
• Fully visible means every part of the target that faces the observer is visible, counting light features. Benefit of cover applies if the target is INFANTRY/BEASTS/SWARM within a terrain area, or is not fully visible.
• Hidden (13.09): INFANTRY/BEASTS/SWARM within an area, whose unit did not make ranged attacks this or last turn, can only be seen from within 15". Gone to Ground (13.11.01): 12" if a dense feature is what keeps the model from being fully visible.
• Not modelled: anything above the 3" Solid level (upper floors, windows above 3"), models blocking line of sight, plunging fire, and how terrain slows movement.
• Shading uses a 32 mm reference target base for toe-in (configurable in Settings).
• Moving a model without INFANTRY/BEASTS/SWARM/MOBILE/FLY over or onto a dense feature shows a warning (13.06: only sections 2" high or less).

Heat maps (toolbar)

• Seen from … deployment: for every spot, the share of that zone (a 2" grid of reference bases) with line of sight to a model there. Blue means hidden from the whole zone, red means seen from all of it. The status bar shows the value under the cursor.
• … firepower: the number of that side's on-table models that have line of sight and a weapon in range of each spot.

Data

• Adepta Sororitas: Wahapedia 11th edition datasheets with the GW Base Size Guide (June 2026). Rhino-chassis hull sizes are community estimates.
• Other factions: Powered by 40kdc-data — 40kdc.alpacasoft.dev (Alpaca Software and the 40kdc community contributors, CC BY 4.0; converted to this app's format). Some vehicle hull sizes are estimates — correct them under Bases.
• Layouts: Rapid Ingress images (40 px per inch). The terrain — footprint outlines, terrain areas, features and objectives — is the official GW Event Companion (v1.2) data, as published by Rapid Ingress.

Sharing

• Link copies a URL that contains the whole scenario (compressed, no server). PNG exports the current view. Save/Load use JSON files.
